How users opt in to SMS verification from Givvie.

This page documents the consent flow that Givvie users see when signing up or logging in to the Givvie mobile app. It is published to support our Toll-Free Verification with Twilio and to give users a transparent record of how SMS consent is collected.

1. About Givvie

Givvie is a local food and drink gifting app. Givvie users send curated experiences — a coffee, a glass of wine, a shared meal — to friends and family at independent venues. The app is currently in active beta, with first-merchant onboarding underway in Amsterdam.

2. The opt-in flow, step by step

The user installs the Givvie app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
On the sign-up or log-in screen, the user is asked to enter their phone number.
Directly beneath the phone-number field and the Continue button, the user sees a clear consent disclosure (shown verbatim below).
To proceed, the user must tap Continue. Tapping Continue is the user's affirmative, intentional action confirming consent to receive an SMS verification code.
Givvie then sends a single 6-digit verification code to the phone number provided. The code is the only message sent.

3. The in-app screen

This is the exact screen a Givvie user sees when entering their phone number. The consent disclosure appears immediately beneath the Continue button, in plain view at the moment of consent.

4. The exact consent text shown to users

This is the consent language displayed in the Givvie app, word-for-word. It matches the use-case description in our Twilio Toll-Free Verification submission.

By continuing, you agree to receive a one-time SMS verification code from Givvie at the phone number above to verify your identity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out. See our privacy policy and Terms.

5. What messages users actually receive

Your Givvie verification code is 847291. This code expires in 10 minutes. Do not share it with anyone. Reply HELP for help.

6. Help and opt-out

HELP:
Givvie sends one-time verification codes only via SMS. Standard message and data rates may apply.

STOP:
Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages. Note that opting out will prevent future log-in via SMS verification.

Givvie does not sell, rent, or share user phone numbers with third parties for marketing purposes. Phone numbers are used solely to authenticate the user and to deliver gift notifications between sender and receiver within the app.
